It’s been a very busy few shifts for the North team.

This week we’ve been joined by PCSO Kaitlin Tilley 60677 who will be covering mainly the Hedge End area, once fully independent. Please give her a warm welcome. 😊

This morning myself and PCSO Kaitlin have been out on cycle patrol, completing 10 miles of high visibility patrols in Hedge End and West End. We supported a Community Speedwatch session in Hedge End, where the amazing volunteers were out helping to keep the roads safe. Do you have 2 hours spare a month? WE NEED MORE VOLUNTEERS. Do you live in Hedge End, West End, Botley, Bursledon, Netley, or Hamble? JOIN OUR TEAM. Click below to fill out the application form, or email speedwatch@hampshire.police.uk for more information.

Community SpeedWatch Application

Whilst there I witnessed a driver with no seatbelt. This was caught on my body worn video (it back tracks 30 sec when we hot record) This offence will be followed up by a PC.

Whilst heading towards West End, PCSO Kaitlin noticed a man appearing to be hurried upon seeing us and she smelt cannabis. Upon approaching the man I also smelt the cannabis. A brief discussion later a tub of cannabis was volunteered and PC’s arrived to do searches of the man and his car. The outcome for this offence on this occasion  was a community resolution with the condition to attend a drug awareness course -  all of this is logged and recorded on our system.

We then popped into West End Parish Council for a cuppa and a catch up. As always I am very grateful to them and the whole team for their support.

Then it was onto a concern for welfare visit I had already planned for a lady.

We then continued our cycle patrol back to the station and need to do a fair amount of write up for tasks we’ve been working on this week.

Hoping you all have a great weekend, the weather looks lovely. 🌞
